Yesterday I noticed smoke coming from my tail pipes, cats, and muffler. It was coming from the outside of the exhaust system... any ideas? It looks like there might have been some kind of fluid on them that was just burning off. Just wondering if there were any known reasons fore the exhaust system to smoke from the outside. I know is sounds weird.

 

Could be a fluid leak from your machine(oil, tranny etc) or something that splashed up from the road. Check all you fluid levels and see if anythings down.

 

get under the car and check to see if your engine is leaking oil or your tranny is leaking at all. 5.0s are good for leaking from the rear main seal and the front and rearintake gaskets

 

It could be a tranny leak. It has also recentlystarted to slip when the engine is cold. 1st and 2nd gear. (Automatic) The fluid level didnt seem low, but I'll check again.
