Default open header ?

i do not have a midpipe or a catback is driving with open headers bad i heard it can burn out the exhaust valves is this true?

I have never SEEN a person actually break valves running open headers. Heck I ran open headers for a few months when I was doing the bodywork on my car. All the valves are still working!
