Default Update on my broken c4

Redneck thinks it is a broken forward drum. They offered to send out a new forward drum or ship the transmission to them to fix it. I decided to send it to them to be fixed since the transmission oil is full of metal shavings and there was a couple chunks of metal in the bottom of the oil pan. There paying shipping and all that, good customer service, the only problem I have with them is you can never get a hold of them on the phone you always have to leave a message so they can call you back the next day.

Shipping it out today viacon-way freight truck, so will see how long it takes for me to get the transmission back.

I want to be updated on this situation. I have a loaded Redneck tranny in my notch. Also I have never heard anything bad about this company as of yet.

Actually started having problems with the 1-2 shift as soon as i got the transmission installed and took a short drive. I didn't think too much of it since it was only happening when the tranny was cold. It was like I didn't have a second gear, had to shift to third then half mile down the road second would start working. After it was warm second gear shifted kinda slow some times and did not shift that hard. I had a 95 f150 5.0 with a shift kit that shifted much harder. So i figured i would go home and reset the band adjustment, but I never quite made it home to see if that would fix the 1-2 shift.

I honestly didn't beat on the transmission that bad, not near the abuse the old t5 has gotten. Just a couple launches off the trans brake at 3k rpms to test the trans brake since I have never driven a car with trans brake before, no burn outs. Temps go up some after running it hard compared to when the t5 was in there, guess it is a good time to finally get rid of the stock radiator thats been in there since it was a 4 cylinder automatic. Any recommendations? People keep telling me to get a griffin but i don't really want to spend $500 on a radiator right now.

Will update this thread when i get the transmission back and hear what happened, or make another one if this one gets deleted like the last one and all the many other threads.

Redneck performance shipped out the transmission yesterday it will be here Tuesday. They said the pump gears broke, I did not take the time to measure the pull out from the transmission when i installed it. Since i am doing all the work by myself in the back yard off jack stands. I did not think of measuring the pullout till after I had already wrestled the transmission under the car and on the jack (holding the transmission with my hands and jacking it up with my foot) So i checked it by eye and it looked very close to 1/8th of an inch to me.

Will definitely measure it this time, though i don't think this was the problem as the pump was whining a lot, it sounded like i had a big supercharger under the hood for the first 10 or so miles of driving.

Anyways GREAT customer service, they told me normally warranty would not cover it since they think it was my fault for improper installation, but they are not charging me anything. Would definitely recommend them to any one looking to buy a c4.

Nice to know. They are at the top of my list when my AOD blows. They advertise on ebay aloaded C-4 good to 800hp, witha trans brake manual valve body, and a 9.5" converter in any stall for $1200. Who can beat that price?. I have a Redneck 3300 stall non lock-up converter in my AOD, with a Redneck hardened input shaft, no complaints.
