Default PCV system

Can anyone tell me where the PCV valve is located on a 1986 mustang, 5.0 of course. It is not in the valve cover where I thought it would be. Just purchased the car and trying to do a little preventive maitenence. It has not been driven much in the last few years.

thanks
mat

Yes, that filter element can get dirty. I used a dentist pik to fish it out. It can be taken apart for added cleaning if youre careful. Grab a can of carb cleaner and spray the crap out of it, put it back together and put it back in. All it is is a metal cage wrapped around a formed mess of tightly packed wire.
