Trust me it was just the elbow that was resricting the engine. I changed it out with a stiffer one a had and no more bogging. The air filter is new.

 

I guess old age probably weakened the material.

 

had to be old age doesnt make any sense though never seen that happen before

 

wow... i will definately keep that in mind if my car bogs down at some point, unless i get a cai like i'm planning

 

Makes perfect sense, rubber is degraded over time from flexing. When you consider that something like that has been bending & flexing a small amount over a 20 year period, that makes perfect sense why it would be weakened.
