electrical issue

Default electrical issue

Can anybody help? Have 88 saleen and when turning on headlights tachometer and gauges go up and down and when you gauge lights do not work. Also when you adjust dimmer switch you can move tach up and down. Car still runs and drives fine. Also when you turn on wipers the switch buzzes and they do not come on. Please help this is killing me

sounds like you have a massive short somwere under the dash id start bylookin under the dash see if you can see any burnt insulation on any wires feel around, dont go thrashin about just gently feel all the wires for heat (also go feel the battery wires) if anything fells any warmer than its surroundings follow it youll probibly find somthing to point in the right direction. also check all grounds ive seen a bad ground do some weird things to a car!

Thanx for the info. I am going to start digging into this car tomorrow. I will let you know what I find. Hopefully I will get lucky. Do you where I can get a full blown service manual and electrical troubleshooting manual or do I have to go directly to ford
