WHAT IS IT
What is the problem. I put in flowtech headers a while ago and they were crap, nothing fit and I kept getting this lunging forward when I pressed on the gas after I was driving for about 5 min. Then the studdering would stop, but the check engine light would remain on. I figured it was the EGR tube leaking since it did with the old headers and such and such. But now, when I just got the FRPP Jet hot headers on (awesome), and the exhaust system all finished, it still does it; it lunges forward repeatedly when pressing the gas in, and the light comes on and everything. The tube fits great I think, and I thought it could be the TPS or something, I will run the computer through sometime this week, but what is it?

Is your smog pump hooked up, is the belt around it?

if you want to check your tps voltage, it should be between .92v and .98v key on engine off (set it for .97 if you can for best performance, you may need to wallow out the mounting holes to adjust it). To check it, get a voltmeter and make 3 small jumper wires between the plug and tps with the centers stripped so you can test voltage there. You just jump two of the wires, I forget which ones just guess until you find it.

You can use a sweeping analog ohm / voltmeter to check the codes manually (just stick the positive prong from the meter into the diagnosticpin on your underhood plugand the other on the ground pin, buy a 20 dollar code scanner, or go to a parts store and they can check them for free (Autozone does for sure). Really it would be best to start there.

Good luck, theire lotsa things it could be
