Default Compression

Hi Ive had a couple of problems and was told my compression might be a little low on an older model car(88 gt). My question is if my compression is low what could be my problem and what do I need to do to solve the problem?
Thanks

Could be a lot of things causing low compression, but why don't you do a compression test first. If you do have low compression on one cylinder, it could be the piston ring or valve seals, neither which you should try to fix if you don't know what you're doing. If compression is low on multiple or adjacent cylinders, could be a head gasket.

what kind of problems are you having with the car for someone to suggest that you have low compression...how many miles do you have on the car?

most all drivability problems are related to either vac or spark.
