Ignition problems
I replaced my spark plug wires from 8mm Bosch to the ford racing 9mm. After all was hooked up I went to start it and it wouldnt turn over. Thought the wires we bad so I put the stock back on. Turned it on, same thing wouldn't turn over. My battery read the same charge it always does when I turn it on. So what else could it be? Plugs? Ignition Coil? Please help!

what exactly do you mean by .."it won't turn over"?
does it try to turn over ? |
did you check for spark?
|
when you took off the old wires did you replace each one with a new wire right away or did you take them all off and put on the new ones? or is it like like Dv3 asked does it crank?
|
i took em all off at the same time. Did i kill the battery? It cranks and wont turn over. but It'll only try to crank once
|
coil?
Since it didn't do it before you started the wire change i would think you forgot something or bumped something loose. Id go back and double check all my actions. or maybe your cap is loose. or you put the wires on in the wrong firing order rob |
i took the wires off and back on 3 times to make sure they were in the right order and tight. Cap isn't loose, checked that twice.

Try this and verify.
If it fails, check the nipple on the coilpack to the coilpack ignition wire, if its loose replace the coilpack, same for the dizzy cap. Make sure you get the "snap feel" for all wires. |
where did u get that printout of the order? On the Mustang 79-93 book it shows the order shift 1 spot counter clockwise. ???
