Hanging idle?
Well I got it running correctly finally. It was a combination of fowled plugs, bad gas, timing, and I think I didn't get them map sensor vacuum hooked up under the intake. Anyways... Now that I have it running, I have a new problem. It idles around 16-1700rpms and if I give it gas sometimes it will just hang about 2000rms.
I took off the iac and sprayed in both holes with carb cleaner untill it ran clean, blew it out with the air hose, then put it back on and same thing. Any ideas?

heh, heh..... I just adjusted mine tonight for the very same thing..... Check your throttle position sensor voltage. If it's above 1.03V; the EEC sometimes thinks your "on the throttle" whe you ain't.
FYI- .97V to 1.03V seems to have always worked great for me.... Next, disconnect the idle air control valve & adjust the idle (via the screw at the throttle plate) to where you like it with the plug disconnected. Keep in mind that you may have moved the TPS voltage "outside" of the good range & you'll have to adjust it again. Disconnect the battery for 20-30 minutes. Hook up the IAC. Hook the battery back up, fire up the car, & let idle for 2 minutes. Blip the throttle, slowly accellerate the rpms up & down, let idle for a couple more minutes. The idle should now stay in the range you want it too IMHO....

Base Idle Reset Procedure ... TPS voltage setting has no affect as long as it's between .7 - 1.1 vdc closed throttle, IOW.... no need to adjust a non-adjustable sensor if it falls within its spec window.... the EEC will filter out any variability.
