Night Terror

Okay this has only happened Three times in the past 3 months...

first time it happend, car wouldn't start... at all,then it backfired, loud enough to have neibhors come outside and ask if i as okay...

second time

the car would start RPM would jump up then it would immediatly shut off... i tried to start it maybe 5 or 6 times, then BANG back fire smoke shot straight out the tail pipes... nieghbors came out again like WTF

tonight

my GF pulls the stang out so i can get my old mans car in the drive way and she is waiting for me to hop in and i get near hte car and it just shuts off... so i go to start it and same thing it just turns on RPMs jump then it turns off but i didn't want to keep tryng incase it backfired again...

so about 4 hours later i try, it starts right up and idles and it WREAKS of gas...

tomorrow if it stops raining im going to check my plugs... im thinking it runs so rich on start up that ahte plugs get drenched... then when they finally fire BANG, and when i let it sit for a bit the gas or w/e comes off the plugs and it starts fine.

hook up a fuel pressure gauge and watch it as you shut the car off. if the pressure instantly drops, you could have an injector sticking open.

sounds to me like an ignition related no start and has it been damp out everytime it won't start?? could be a coil, or tfi module

Night Terror

it happened again today... was driving and the car just turned off, so i pushed it down the main road into a parking lot... started it up and it was missing heavy then it turned off... did it a few times... and when it was running it was shotting smoke out the tails and it smelled like pure gasoline.


come to think about it last two times its happened its been raining or very humid like today is...
