Default CAR WON'T START

I drove my 91 mustang to town about a week ago, when I went to leave it would not start. It will crank but I noticed the fuel pump will not shut off as it should after it primes. After I got the car home I dropped the tank and the rubber hose coming off of the pump looked bad so I replaced, but it still does the same thing with the key in the run position the pump never stops running. The car has spark and hopefully today I can check fuel pressure but I am guessing the pump is shot. Any help is appreciated.

I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM CAR WOULD CRANK OVER BUT WOULD NOT START. ENDED UP BEING THE STATOR. A WHITE PLASTIC PEICE IN THE DISTRIBUTOR. BUT THE RUNNING FUEL PUMP KINDA CONFUSES ME.
