Default T5 issues

I have recently began to have a certain problem with my T5. When I go to down shift from 5th to 4th it acts like it is trying to go into reverse. It is grinding really hard, like if you try and put it in reverse going forward. I know that this isn't what its doing, just wondering if anyone has any idea on how to adjust it. I will pull my tranny this winter to do it because it take the fun out of down shifting....scared I am gonna hit reverse at 70mph

no^^^^^^^^^^^^^ the sychro teeth are built on to the gear hub itself on the t-5 tranny and the triangular shapped teeth sit back a tad from the cone shaped hub on to which the blocker ring is pushed via the slider when the blocker ring contacts the gear hub the friction material on the blocker ring slows down / stops the gear hub from spinning and the teeth on the blocker ring mesh with what are known as the sychronizer teeth on the gear hub and combine for a nice clean gear engagement......when the friction material becomes worn on the blocker ring the ring when pushed into the synchro hub can no longer slow/stop the gear from turning and hence a grind/ gear clash is heard and you then begin to damage the teeth on the synchro hub and blocker ring teeth further adding to harsher grinding gear engagements

I still don't know. My tranny was rebuilt a couple years ago and doesn't grind at all going into any gear, no matter how I drive. It sometimes goes into 4th downshifting without any issue, than other times with issue. If I pulled the shifter over to the left as I am going into fourth it seems to be fine, if I go on an angle, that seems to be where the issue is.....maybe it is my shifter, but I suspect the shifter linkage, just not really sure.

there could be wear on the slider, my 92 has a similar prob with grinding occasionally, only when it's cold, if I drive it a few miles down the road then I can shift quick with no prob, when the friction material wears it can't retain fluid in the friction material very well and that is when grinds occur, just an idea, without disassembley and inspection it's all speculation
