intake question and timing?
have an 86 mustang with bbk 65mm throttle body, pullys , x pipe and intake, timing is set at 10 base timing. was wandering if i can bump it up a little or will i not see a difference.
in take question? stock explorer intake or aftermarket, like tric flow, or something along those lines? planing on putting gt 40 heads on

i run 13* base on 89 octane and i picked up 10 ponies on the dyno going from 10* up to 13*. so you should feel a difference.
depends what kind of car you're building as far as what intake you should get. but if you're getting gt40 heads just get the gt40 tube intake and you'd have a decent street machine with a nice cam.

however on my 83 i had to back the timing down to about 4* base because the vac advance was pulling too much and my carb runs better with the low timing.
but as far as efi go with 13-14*

the timming you can bump to 12*-14* depending on your octane. I run 12* on 87 octan b.c of gas prices but when i go to the track and what not I put it at 14* on 93 octane and see a nice Seat of the pants feel from it.
if u want GT40 heads just get urself an Explorer intake or a Tubular GT40 if you can find one at a decent price.
