Wouldn't be worth it, you'd spend a few thousand getting it to fit, new axles, shorten the diff, and weld new brackets onto it. Just find another mustang with one, or ebay it. They're a dime a dozen. I have 2 spare 8.8's in my backyard, and another in my car that I'm pulling out to put a 9" in.

Even if the diff was a 9" out of an 87 or older ford, it would be worth getting it done. You can buy the housing for under 400, then axles for about 600 and a good posi for 400 so for about 1600 you could have a 9" in there instead of an 8.8. I have a few 9"'s kicking around too, but I'm not even going to bother with them, it's cheaper to buy one to bolt right into our cars than it would be to get it cut.

Also, how much do you trust the guy doing your rear-end? As its extremely easy to weld the brackets in the wrong place so it won't line up properly.
