I found my 40's on a local site ported and polished for 400+140 for clean up. Look around for the gt40's or the gt40p's, get 'em cleaned up, and have at 'er.

the E7 isnt allll that bad, if you want, you can port them out some yourself for little money. this is what i'm gonna do for the time being.... my 95's heads are going out and i just got a new 306 with a cam. later on since i'm on a TIGHT budget right now i'll get some nicer heads but... for now these ported out E7 heads will do just fine. i'm gonna gasket match them and all. they wont be the best by FAR but enough to get an improvement. just my opinion

I too always wondered just how bad the e7's were.I have a feeling there not that bad.Let me put it this way. If you said you want gt40's someone would say don't bother get trick flow's,if you said you put on trick flow's but were'nt happy with the numbers they tell you shoulda got AFR's,and so on and so on until you have a stroked 347 and next thing you're thinkin about a new Cobra or some ****.

I say $400 for freshened heads seems not great, but okay. A part of me always liked the idea of workin what you got and base lining the car so its nice and tight and maybe on some occasions doing better than some cars with h/c/i. Just a dream, like superstock or whatever.

Don't waste your money. You won't feel much by having your e7's worked on. Get a set of gt40s and have them ported. You will feel so much more for the extra $100 it takes to buy them from the junk yard.
