stroker engine build up
ok so i was previously had to make the desition wether to agree to a bet me and a freind with a 383 stroker s10 made to race at the end of school for grad and i had to deside wether i would make my car look good first or do engine work first well things are going good... i parked the car for the winter and desided to sand it down and do rust work and paint it... how ever ive been saving my money for a wile and now its time that i had desided on buying some engine components... so i came to the conclution to start with a 302boss aluminum block and run an 347 stroker kit with 225cc heads but still not sure if a set of 1 and 5/8" hooker headers would be good anough and still not sure on the cam, and what intake system to use...how ever i do know i want it to be fuel injected and i have intentions to put a big N2O(wet) system on it when its done so i need some help on desiding before my engine components arive this january... oh! and what kinda tires should i run for high torque and top speed... help and comments much needed i need some ideas thanks!

+1 on contacting Woody @ Fordstrokers.com. I'm in the planning stages of a 331 build, and no matter where I go and price kits and or short blocks, Woody beats them hands down. I even bought a used block ($40), and planned to install a Scat kit from Summit ($830), but after I pay for shipping ($60), machining the block ($535), balancing the rotating assembly ($170), new 28oz flexplate ($45) and balancer ($250), I'm right there where Woody can build me a short block and ship it to my front door!. It'll be done right, and he stands behind his product.

First of all as far as I know Ford doesnt build a aluminum Boss 302 block (I;m not 100%) but the 351 block is over 3500 dollars. World products or Dart would be where you would need to look and the World block but thats 4400 dollars
As far as the headers go, No you can't run them (sucessfully) on any head with 225 CC ports. Being as the exhausts ports in any good head will flow over 70% of the intake the headers would have to have a minimum siize of 1 3/4 if they are well built custom headers. By the time you got this superstar stroker together you'd be looking at over 20,000 dollars by the time you got the engine up and running.
My suggestion is keep your dream a little more realistic. It cost a LOT of money to build a car from the ground up. Unless daddy has some really deep pockets I'd be looking to build a realistic 347 to give your bud a good spanking but the right built 383 is a tough combonation to deal with.

a good sound 302 shortblock with some decent heads ,intake, mild cam and supporting fuel mods along with a turbo with say 10 lbs of boost will put u just over 500 to the wheels and will get your car moving, and then after that it is hooking up...

Just like anything else the cubic inch numbers don't mean near as much as how it's built. I've built some 383 Chevys that made more power than I thought possible. Same thing for getting the to hook. It's not hard to do that either. I can build a 650 hp pump gas 383 with my eyes closed and all off the shelf parts. Cheapest hp dollar for dollar is a small block Chevy.
