Default Running 24lbers with SD

Hey Guys... SD section doesn't get to much attention so i figured i would post it out here

really want to keep my set up SD!

Going with Edelbrock Performer RPM heads
Trickflow intake Street burner
Comp xe264hr-14...

figure this will put me near the 300rwhp mark... what kind of adjustments to my fuel and timing will i need in order to make this work?

quoted from Joel5.0

"The 24#'s will cause a permanent idle/cruising rich A/F...the system will try to adjust fuel trim, but the 24#'s usually cause the SD system to fall over its fuel pulse width trimming limits under those conditions, causing the rich A/F...BTSTDT. The only way to correct that condition would be to alter the system via Tweecer or chip."

You're going to to convert to mass-air to use those injectors...maybe a DFI set-up?

I tried 24# injectors with speed density personally. The car ran alright but idled around 1500-1800 rpm because it was so rich.

Those 19s will do just fine, That stuff about hp levels to injector size doesn't always work out. I ran ported performers, ported cobra, e and B cams 1.7s, 65mm tb, and ALWAYS SPEED DENSITY. EVERYONE said it will not work, don't fight it convert!!!!!. I didn't give up, mine worked. With this it ran 11.98 @ 112, on the 19s. Then I juiced it with a 100 shot. STILL SD STILL 19s, the 4:30 gears ran out at the 1000 or so, All I saw was 11.60s and at 109 cause I had to get out of it.

I too tried the 24s, never could make myself happy with them. You may want to try some 20s (Dodge Dakota 318 injectors) same fit, same plug.

And I was able to get away with 22 degrees of timing. I just noticed that you are from NY. If you can find Lee Rutter, he is the alltime king of SD. He ran 10s with iron heads and speed density back in 1990. He is the KING. If he tells you the car will float, put it in the water.

This a daily driven car... and will continue to be for a little while... i don't want the 19lbers to be running at 100% duty cycle all the time.. i am not quite sure what will happen to them but i have a feeling it will be bad haha...

i will probably just complete my current set up and re-use my stock injectors for now and save up some loot and go 21lbers just for my own piece of mind.

Do you daily drive at WOT, I put 160,000 miles on my car, with SD and 19s, do what you feel is right. These figures are for peak hp, wide open, ect..... The engine will not make 350hp driving around @ 1800rpm, and will not stress the injectors while doing so.
