Exclamation STARTER PROBLEM!!!NEED HELP!

Ey you guys I had a question, I recently did a starter replacement job on my 87 5.0 vert. I noticed that when i turn on the car the starter is really loud when it cranks the motor to start! My friend has the same mustang and year and his starter is quiet when it cranks. What so you guys think is the problem?

Could just be the starter. The one I used to have on my car was loud.

Like someone else said make sure the bolts are tight. If it is making a grinding sound check the ring gear on the flywheel to make sure the teeth are good.

The starter is remanufactured for my car. There is no problem with starting the car, it doesnt grin but it"s loud when i turn the key to turn on my car! So what do you guyz think is the problem, the starter or the bell housing like "mustangsneverdies" said?

you've got 5 pintos?!!

Why?!

But really, I think there could be an array of variables for the difference in sound. If you don't hear and grinding, and its purely the starter motor there's probably no problem.

Hmm, are you sure that teeths are hiding after releasing the key?
It may be the problem, in my boss car that was the problem...

It's only loud when i crank it to start the car! After that you dont hear anything anymore. I thought it was normal but then i heard my friend's 5.0 and when he cranks it, it's quieter than mine. So i was wondering if I should replace the starter but there is no problem starting it but it's just loud!
