Question conversion help

o.k....after searching on here for the efi to carb conversion i have learned alot. i am putting my 86 302 into my 93 GT. it already has a HEI dizzy, msd box, and holley blue pump.

my question to you guys is.....

1. can i just connect the holley to the factory lines? or will it not pull the fuel throught the stock pump?

2.someone on here i read bought a granatelli pick up tube to make it work. those are expensive, so is it worth it? will that solve the problem?

here are some solutions i came up with...i dont know if they will work though..

1. buy a fuel cell and fab up a frame for it...but i dont want to cut a hole in my car.

2. will a fuel tank out of a 85 work?

i am sure i am making this more complicated than it is and any help you can give me would be great. and since im new, i hope i used the search function to the max and this isnt already posted.

thanks guys

all i did was drop the tank and remove the pump and extend the pickup tube, and it worked perfect. as far as the pump i didnt want the hassle of wiring it and the noise so i run a mechanical pump, slick, simple, and quiet!

Exactly as stated above. A tank from a 85 is usuable but not needed. Just remove the fuel pump and run a rubber hose the length of the pump and be done with it. Then change over to a older timing cover that has the provision for a mechanical pump and run the rubber hose to it. that way you can remove the EFI fuel lines all the way down the frame and hide the new line under the motor to the pump.
