Default Wheel Offset

I just got some Eagle Alloy Cobra R knockoffs, polished. They are all 17x9. I mounted 255\40R17 all around. The fronts stick out about a 1/2 inch from the wheel wells, and the backs tuck in with room to spare. Should I just put spacers in the back to bring them out, or change the fronts? I like the tough look of a wider footprint.

Also, what kit should I use to lower the car about 1.5 inches?

Thanks

Gus

Keep the front the way they are. Don't put spacers, just put some 275s in the back.

Thought about that, but the wheels are visibly inside the fronts. Needs spacers AND 275's!

I have the Eagle Alloy cap on there. I may order some caps from MustangsUnlimited or some other catalog. Its not a big deal, but the offset is. What are you doing about the offset?

Gus, the best way to fix the offset is to get another car.

I used a universal spacer on the back which is about 3/8 inch, very small, but it helped.

I have a 94 gt with the same wheels and same wheels and 255\40s i hade the same problem and i got half inch wheel spacers it helped alot, they only cost about 15$ but my lug nuts are now holding about three threads, so any larger wheel spacers are around 150.00 because they have larger studs on them.
