Starter
Hey Guys,
Every now and then (I'd say a few times a week), I'll go to start my car and it doesn't turn over on the first start. I can hear the starter spinning and then when I let off the key I can hear a kind of clunk like the starter caught. Do u think its not meshing with the gears or something? It always only does it once. On the second start it starts perfectly.

i had that problem. i just went and bought a new starter which fixed it for me. i have had another instance that the ring gear on the flywheel would spin and then catch and the car would start. i just had to replace the flywheel

Either the gear on your starter is worn or your missing some teeth on your flywheel.Replacing the drive gear on your starter or just getting a new starter will be more than likely the way to fix it. To find out for sure take off your old starter and look at the drive gear on it (sometimes it will look good, but it is worn down), and look at your flywheel (have someone turn theengine over by hand to see all of it).

9/10 its the starter not the flywheel
