couple questions on carbuertor cars
ok im looking to get a 1988 mustang lx, its got a 5.0 in it, but thers just one thing..its got a carbuertor instead of fuel injection. the guy has a holley 650 on it, its got a whole new motor, ~60,000 miles on motor. and has 30,000 miles on a rebuilt t5 tranny, hes asking 2000 for it. has 140,000 on the body, no visible rust. has the wing and cowl hood, i think 3". after market tach and 3 new guages in the dash. but my main question is..
is this carbuerated setup worth the buy? are they a hassle to work on? and lastly, is this setup worth 2000??

are ya gonna drive it everyday? and where do you live? carb has its advantages and disadvantages, they can be a lil harder on gas and can start harder in the cold. but if you its everything is adjusted correctly then they run good. carbs are easier for most people to tune themselves, and you can adjust them yourself when you add mods. You can tune EFI yerself too but ya sometimes need a tuner. if its in good shape i would say its worth it , BUT its hard to say without seeing it.

post a pic.....as far as a hassle, carbs are not a hassle as long as you understand the basics of them and know what circuits on the carb to tune to correct drivibility issues and how to read plugs is key

well i got about 8 people in my famoily that love carbuerators lol. my dad liked them, we used to have a pinto with a carbuerator, sold the car, but still have the carb lol. that thing ran like a champ till about 280,000 miles...the floorboards rusted through haha. are there any temperature worries with carbs? if it gets too cold will the car start? how bad will the gas mileage be if im easy on the loud pedal
