it should but check with the cam manufacturer about it also with the smaller lift (for a solid roller) you could could run less spring pressure so that would help. is there any reason that you are doing this?

i dont see why not!!! you might need to check the valve train at least twice a year for normal slack and wear with solid lifters

If you dont mind 1000+rpm idle and setting lash about every oil change, and buying new lifters about once a year, sure why not. Thats not sarcasim. I was considering it myself, but Im relitively dead set against it right now.

Comp makes some good Street roller (solid) cams and using the endurx (sp?) roller lifters. They hold up pretty well but take into consideration that valve lash and high spring pressures take their toll. In most cases on small block (5.0) fords the heads have to come off to get the link bar lifters in and out. You will need to inspect them about every 10K or more depending on spring pressure.

If the lifters you have are used I'd skip it. When a lifter comes apart at 7000 rpm the results can be catostrophic. For a daily driver I'd pass. On a limited street car I would consider it. Hyd roller is still the best option for the daily driver. They are a little rough on roller rockers as well. I've beat a set of Crane Gold rockers to the point of bad pitting in 6K with a small solid roller. No free lunch on this one
