Default running lean

i have a code 41- ego not switching bank 1 lean. what are the first things i should check for?

First switch your o2 sensors from side to side then run the scan and see if the code follows.

they're pretty new. they have less than 3000 miles on them

That doesn't mean it couldn't be at fault........ the result from that suggested test will help narrow the possibilities down. BTW.... I've installed O2 sensors that had to be replaced again after a test cycle..... OEM brands included.

well, now i have code 41 and code 91, which is both o2's. my question is, do 5.0's CEL's come on with an offroad h pipe regardless?

^^^^no, catalyst efficiency is not monitored on obd 1, , for lean codes on both banks check fuel pressure, make sure all maf tubing is connected and make sure O/2 GROUND IS IN PLACE.

what do you mean by the o2 ground being in place? all i did was just plug it in to the harness

EGO ground comes out of the wiring harness (back of motor) and is grounded to the firewall. I believe it is an orange colored wire ended in a loop.
