the waterpump came on the reman engine i bought.. the engine is from an 1996 explorer!

and im using all of the F150 accessory brackets.. and they stick a little farther out than the explorer brackets.. so the pulley's are different.
BUT i cant use the F150pump becuase the bolt pattern on different it wont bolt on the block

note: this engine is going in a 1989 F150

or to make a custom pulley spacer type but dunno

a friend has a 1990 stang and i can buy the cover from him.. those stangs use the same pump as f150's

Default pump

Ford changed the timing cover and water pump design I think in 1994

You will have to change the cover. If you make a spacer it will put too much side tension on the pump bearings and kill the pumps life.

might it be cheaper to put in an electric pump and just bypass that pulley? To be honest i dont know how you would run the belt with an electric pump, but it might be an option.

ok!!. i swapped the pulley from one pump to another.. so it has the same bolt pattern for the pulley and the fan clutch and now i just need to make a 1 3/4 " spacer for the pulley to line with the other belts and thats one less problem

its good to have a friend with a machine shop sometimes!

in the future ill change the timing cover.. or the belt system..

or just put an Efan on there thats better i think
