Steering wheel and dash shake @ 65mph +
When I'm driving 65 mph + my steering wheel and dashboard shakes/vibrates. I'm not talking a little bit, it's kinda rough at times.
what are some of the things that could be causing this?

A bad vibration like you describe will need more than a 1 ounce wheel weight to correct.
Check for a bad tire or a bend rim.
Lift the car up and spin the tires. Look at the tread surface for trueness. Or as MJR said, run out. Anything around 40 or 50 thou will be a problem.

Don't forget to check your ball joints. Tires being unbalanced from uneven wear(bad alignment) can be the cause 90% of the time. A bad ball joint can cause some wicked steering wheel shake. My steering wheel was jumpin badly at 65+ about 2 years ago, bad enough that two hands and all my strength couldn't stop it. The problem: driver's side ball joint.

If the harmonic balancer had anything to do with it, the vibration would be worse with engine rpm and not vehicle speed. Also I do not think the balancer would transmit that much vibration into the steering wheel.

Great info guys, thanks.
The strange thing is, it doesn't vibrate ALL of the time doing 65+, but I'd say about 75%-90% of the time. I'll have take it to the shop and see what they say...
thanks again

Inspect your driveshaft and u-joints.. My car had a horrible vibration at around 60 when i got it.. It was missing one of the caps on the u-joint.. I guess mine wasn't so much in the steering wheel though.. My whole car shook..
