Default engine stalling while driving...

so, ive got my car all together, but i seem to be having an electrical problem. When i first got the car together, i had the key on, engine off and my fuel pump and fan were on full time. it stayed on for a good couple minutes, then i heard some relay clicking, and everything shut off. thinking that i maybe left the CCRM or ECM disconnected, i checked over my harness and couldn't find anything loose.

last night i was out with the car. while driving down the highway, my engine cut out. i still had power to my gauges and lights, but it seemed that my entire EFI system just crapped out. i couldn't get the car restarted until i pulled over. i had to put the pedal to the floor for ''flood clear''. im not sure what could be causing these problems.

mike, bernie, joel... this one has got me stumped.

I'b double check the grounds for the ecm and motor, then I'd tap into the FUEL PUMP POWER WIRE TO the pump out of the ccrm with a dvom to see if when the prob occurs , if the fp is loosing it's power to the pump from the relay if so you know you have a power supply issue and based on the wierd things the fans were doing as long as the ecm isn't commanding relay operation from the ccrm, then I'd suspect a bad ccrm

i do know that if the ECM is unplugged, the fan defaults to HI ON. what really gets me is, i know the fuel pump is getting power because when the engine stalls, i can hear it still running. I haven't had any time to test it yet, i got home around 1am and had to be in to work for 8...

I tried wiggle testing my main harness connectors, and cannot manually create the fault. i'm suspecting its a loss of ignition because my wideband goes rich when it stumbles out.

ill update with test results after i get home (read: after 5)

well, went through the car and checked all my grounds, cables, harnesses, connectors... couldnt find a thing. popped my passenger side door open and checked the 3 connectors next to my ECM... all of a sudden, the fuel pump kicks on and the fan starts going. so I reach over and knock on my computer, and they both turn off.....

so, either my SCT chip wiggled loose... or my ECM is ready to take a dump.

fantastic!
