is msd ignition a waste of money on a slightly modified 5.0? I always heard that msd only should be used if your 5.0 was blown or was pushing well over 300 ponies. Will msd ignition do anything for a 5.0 with mostly bolt-ons? I have a 94 cobra with superchip, 3.73s, msd coil, x pipe, maf, and k&n kit. Will the msd really do much for my mods?

Although ford has a good ignition, I went with the crane hi-6s box and was impressed. With my aod, the idle was a little lumpy, be sitting at a light and it would drop down, then pick back up, nothing drastic but irritating. The crane box smoothed it out, plus I have the rev limiter and can add a timing retard box if I go with s/c or nitrous. I don't think you could go wrong by getting an upgraded ignition, and they have become fairly inexpensive.

the stock distributor works good tho, if you put the msd 6al box in it you should get like 5-10 hp, not enough to feel the difference but when the other bolt on parts start adding on, then you will be glad you have it.
