Default temp problem

my 94 gt seems to be running too hot for my comfort. the gauge reads in the L of normal and sometimes creeps higher than that. but it does it in a wierd way. i will go straight from the R to the L fast not gradually like it should. all new hoses, temp sensor, cap, waterpump is good. what else could it be

You could be having problems with your gauges, or wiring. Mine started acting up after i put the new motor in. It was showing the car running hot even though it wasn't. I eventually went with a mechanical temperature gauge.

yeah i thought about that. is there anyway to check that or what should i be looking for to tell me it is the gauge. i kind of like the stock look at far as the gauges and stuff go. the motor does feel a little warm and the fans are working correctly. head gasket on exhaust side? or would i notice smoke or severe loss or power with head gasket

pick up a temp gun i think u can get them for pretty cheap and see wat the temp is at the sensor and then compare to the gauge. borrow a temp gun if u can but if u have buy one they r nice to have and come in handy alot of times.

anyone think the head gasket may be blown? no coolant in the oil but it could be blown on the exhaust side and causing air pockets in the intake and stuff?

Do you see any leaks when the engine is revved?

Hm. I'd say hook up a mechanical temp gauge then. Just seems like the stocker is going out.
