Default rust???

I'm about to buy a 87' coupe. It has some rust on the shock towers along the seams at the bottom. I was wondering if this would pose a huge threat, or if its a common problem with a quick fix?

It could possibly be a big problem considering the mustang's are unibody car's and there structure relies on the body and front clip,it really all depends how it is,if it is only surface rust then there is really no problem at all just remove it with a wire brush and respray it with some good undercoat.
