starting problems again...

Default starting problems again...

ok so i out in a new starter last week and everything was fine, till yesterday i go to start my car and all i got was a clicking noise, so i went and got a new solenoid, put it in and the cars still making the noise, no starter crank at all, i think the solenoid is making the noise.... any help?!

bad ground either at the block where the battery cable hooks on, or the connection is loose, or the connections are corroded from battery acid.

well the cables arent corroded, the battery is in the trunk and the cables are all tight, maybe ground connection, i dunno where they wouldve put it after the battery relocation tho..

well, trace it. if its bolted to the body somewhere, make sure the area is clean of paint and rust free.

nope didnt work, i just cleaned the ground and nothin happened

is the solenoid grounded well? the backing plate of the solenoid, where it bolts down, is the ground. if you have it mounted to some kind of rubber vibration dampner or something, it won't work.

have the battery tested, or turn the lights on are they bright?

might be the backing plate, never thought of that so i didnt check it, it wouldnt be the battery cuz i just got a brand new optima redtop so it cant be that lol, best battery ive ever used

don't assume anything, that's how one becomes lost in the treck of troubleshooting, verify it........just do what I said, turn the lights on with the ignition in the on position, see if when you flip the lights on, everything in the car goes dead, if so = ground/connection issue

nope...not a thing, just a clicking noise, just cleaned the ground for the solenoid too and its bolted on tight, i cant figure this out lol
