Default no pressure?

Hello, I have a 88gt 5.0, did recent tune up..plugs, wires, fuel filter, bumped up the timing a notch. Car was running great for a month or so..up untill the last week I was noticing the car was missing under load. I stopped off for gas today..and on my way home the car started missing, backfiring..terribly. The car stalled and I was able to start it back up, and limped it home. Fuel pump is priming for a second or so..however I depressed the schrader valve and it just drooled out a little fuel. So I am under the assumption that it is getting no pressure. Car will start, but then idles rough..and eventually dies.

Any Suggestions? Fuel pump, regulator, filter?...
Thanks

you need to put a gauge on it = only proper way to test fuel pressure

valve is usually on the fuel rail. should have like a black cap. depending on the tester it should screw on to the valve. turn key to on(no start) mark ur psi then start car and compare psi. should only drop max of 10psi. then pull vac of pressure reg and psi should increase. Even if u have the right PSI for all test u still may not have enuf flow. simplest test for flow is to open the release valve on the tester(depends on tester) fuel should flow from the tester with a good flow and still keep the car running. if either are low most likely fuel filter, fuel pump,. good luck

Yes it did get worse after I got gas..so bad I barely got it home. Over the past week I have noticed a loss of power and hesitation under load in 4th and 5th gear. Well go get a pressure tester to test it..but it seems like there is no pressure when I hit the valve.

pressing the valve while the car is off only relieve what pressure is in the line if u have a leak there wont be much pressure in the line but lets wait for the psi results

Exclamation update

When I was checking the underside of the distributor cap, I noticed that the contact point on the coil..which makes contact with the rotor looks worn down..and heavily carbonized. How far is that contact point supposed to protrude out? Also there are a bunch of shavings'/dust sitting down at the bottom. Thanks
