Default Transmission removal problems

Hey all I have a 95 gt with the AODE transmission. I am trying to remove it in order to install a new torque converter. I have all the bell housing bolts removed (6 of them) and the trans mount on the tail housing removed, and yet it still will not seperate from the engine. Am I forgetting something? I have been prying on this thing with a 36 in. long prybar and it still acts like I forgot a bolt or something, but I have checked numerous times and can't find anything that would be holding me up. I just had the engine out of the thing a little over a year ago and didn't have any problem with it being stuck to the trans...

Did you remove the torque converter bolts? There are four of them and they bolt the TC to the flywheel, You have to turn the engine and unbolt each one.

lol yes I got all the TC nuts and the starter is removed, everything is torn down that should be, everything is unplugged and/or disconnected/unbolted from the trans but i just cant get the thing to seperate. Its like its welded on or something lol. The way its acting you would think for sure that I forgot a bellhousing bolt, but I can only find 6 of them and they are all removed. I have tried jacking up on the motor too thinking that maybe the trans was hanging up on the alignment dowel pins but no success. I just cant believe im having this much trouble when I just had the engine out of it so recently...

I just removed my T5 and had the same problem. My issue was that the two dowel pins that hold the bell housing in place were really tight so the bell housing wouldn't just slide off. I had to hit the thing with a rubber mallet for a good 10 minutes (I couldn't get much of a swing because of the angle and small contact point) before it finally started to slowly work its way off.

Might be your problem as well.

Perhaps saturating the contact points with penetrating oil, letting it soak in a bit, and then wiping it all clean from the outside and strategically and gently applying some heat to where the dowel pins are - and then intelligently applying shock force to the unit while applying separation pressure.

You had them separated a year ago - and if you're sure you've gotten all the nuts off everywhere - this should hopefully work.
