I'd be running the 276 with 1.6 rockers. I guess that would knock lift down to @ .512? Am i defeating the purpose of this cam if I don't go with the 1.7's?
you CAN run the cam with 1.6 rockers... but if you order it from summit.. just order a single 1.7 ratio rocker... do the PTV checks with the 1.7 on each cylinder and see if it clears. If it does... order the other 15
I like the way you think! Thanks for all the input guys- this is the first time I've torn into one of these motors, and I've read a ton on these forums. I'm probably more cunfused now than I was before I started, but I'm getting a much needed education! Thought I had my mind made up on TFS1, but for now XE276 with 1.6rr's. Adder might smack that TFS over my head if I got it!
Ok- how bout this. Can you get away with 1.7's on the TFS1? I know I would need to check, but does anyone have firsthand experience? I trust your judgment Adder, just curious........

on the small valves those heads will come with (well, relatively speaking), more than likely, yes it will clear, but you NEED to check...
you could also run a TFS 2 on 1.6 rockers, that is a much more aggressive cam that the TFS 1...
