Default heat problem

So about 5 days i week i drive my car about 25 minutes to work. Well my tempurature warms up nicely to about 160 and stays there until i get on the freeway(about 7 min), then while im on the freeway it will just rise and rise and rise, slowly but luckily i get to my destination before it rises over the halfway mark, but i was just wonderin if this was normal cause i hate having to always keep a close eye on my temp guage and im afraid to drive it any longer than 25 min on the freeway. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Half way up is fine.Sounds to me like you have an air flow problem.

you have a stall do you have a cooler? also do you have youre lines going into the heat exchanger? if so a rise in heat from the stall will heat up the coolant in the rad

theres youre problem. the extra heat from the stall on the highwy with it slipping is causing the heat exchanger to get hot and then heating up the coolant alot more. you need a huge tranny cooler and do away with the heat exchanger

If you are using AC, the guage will go to half even little past the middle. Especially if it is hot out and traffic. The best way I have known is not to let it pass the M on the normal if stock guage is used. Try using a 180 degree thermostat. That would help.

Try adding a bottle or two of " wetter than water". Works great for me, down in South Mississippi.

Look under your car and make sure that the plastic air deflector isn't damaged or missing. A friend of mine ripped his off on a curb and it acted the same as yours. We put a new one on and the problem went away.
