Default head and cam combo

I have a 94 GT and the motor is stock. I'm thinking of changing the heads and cam and don't want to change exhaust headers . What would be a good combo for power and sound. And how will it affect drivabillity?

why dont you wanna get headers????, that wouldnt make sense to drop $1500 into your motor and have a stock header that will rob the power.

You won't get anywhere near you're power potential with heads and cam without getting headers..long tubes would be best..but shorties would even help

LTs arent worth it at this point in time. id say if he was nicely over 400hp then yep get them

unequal shorties flow alot better then you think they do when teamed up with a good flowing H pipe

yeah, longtubes are almost never worth the hassle, as the gains over descent shorties is minimal. the intermediate pipe and mufflers are way more restrictive than even the worse shorties.

Well I know that with trickflow heads I can use my stock headers. I don't have the cash for headers right now but I'm planning on changing heads and figured I should get the cam out the way while their. But I don't want to lose horse power and I know trickflow will perform with stock headers without reducing torque. I can buy headers in the future. I appreciate the feed back plus anymore you guys have.

buy the headers first....save a lil more $$$$ ..you can find great used heads and many times the spring have been upgrade same as a used cam as their is minimal wear on a low milage cam....but unless you buy a chip of some sort with a cam/head change drivabilty will suck

i keep hearing people say that you have to retune the ECU with H/C/I. this isnt true until you start messing with electronics, such as larger MAF, injectors, etc... the whole purpose of computer controlled setups is to control the air/fuel ratio. the additional incoming air will be "noticed" by the maf, and then sent to the ECU to recalculate ignition timing, and fuel injector pulse length to control the A/F ratio. the only driveability factor that will change is cloosed loop operation, and idle quality. dont get me wrong new computer settings do make more power on a modified EFI setup, but not b/c the stock one cant handle the changes, its b/c the factory one isnt designed for diff sized mafs and injectors, it is setup for lower emmisions, not improved performance.
