For a 90-93 5.0, where does the tach wire connect on the ignition coil?

 

It doesn't connect to the coil, i'm pretty sure it is the tan wire with the yellow stripe that goes into the ignition control module

the ignition control module is inside the distributor if i'm not mistaken...just look for that tan wire with a yellow stripe going into the distributor

 

Ok, so i just went out and checked, and thats the wire i already connected to. It does run to the ignition coil. My problem still exists. The tach registers way too low, and it is the fault of the coil, not the tach. The same thing happens with an independent tach. What should i do?

 

try connecting it directly to the negative wire on the coil

 

That is the negative wire isnt it?

 

try connecting it to a green and i think yellow behind the cluster </P>

Can i remove the cluster without having to recalibrate the gauges?

 

yes just be careful when u remove speedo cable</P>
