Default Sticky throttle...help

I have had this problem off and on for some time now. Strangly it is not always it happens. But my throttle will stick in the rest position. Then when I proceed to press on the gas it wont move...meaning I have to press just a little harder. Then it gives and the pressure I was using to apply it shoot my RPMs up to around 1500-2000 because I accidentally pushed the pedal too far.

I hate this because I have standard and it makes me look like I can't drive it.

I have tried using WD-40 on the actual pedal and on the linkage below the throttle body. I gave it enough and it still does it.

Has anybody else had this problem. Is it the pedal, throttle body linkage, throttle body itself, or the cable between the pedal and the TB...which creates too much friction internally.

Any ideas?

I have this same exact problem, I know exactly what you are talking about. Take a rag and put your throttle wide open and clean as much as you can inside the throttle body. It took care of my problem, I'll probably end up buying a new throttle body though, it's starting to do it again.

Also, make sure you don't have a piece of carpet or something periodically snagging the side of the accelerator pedal.
