Default transmission trouble

My aod is acting weird. Ill be driving down the street and its fine. Ill come to a stop and go to drive and it will but it wont shift or it will not shift till like 4500 rpms. Get to work shut the car off come out to go home no problems. This started yesterday. Drive to work today fine. Go to lunch same issue occurs. Get back to work park it. Drive home and its fine again. Luckily I only live 5 miles from work and its now dark but I want to get into this tomorrow. Any ideas?

Also Im assuming an aod from a 4 banger wont bolt up considering you have to change the bell housing on a t5 from a 4 banger to mate up to a 5.0.

Yea sorry forgot to mention I did check the fluid right in the crosshatched area and nice and red. The transmission has 114,000 miles on it. Forgot to mention it is my 90 LX 5.0 not the gt in my sig.

since it is fine sometimes and other not, makes me think possibly a valve sticking in the valve body, but I'd also check the TV cable and make sure it's properly set and not binding

Cool thanks yea Ill have to check that out. I am familiar with the tv cable from dealing with that on my gt.

My guess would be that if its a sticking valve I would have to have the transmission rebuilt. Sorry dont know much on how automatics quite work.

If its just a valve sticking the valve body just has to be worked on a little. Might as well put a shift kit in there as well though. When is the last time you changed the fluid on it? That might do some wonders...

Yea I changed the fluid like 6 months ago. The tv cable is fine so it must be a sticky valve so Ill have to get on that. Once again tho thanks for the help and quick responses.

The likelyhood that you need to start your own thread. Then tell us your issues and ask questions. Not in someone elses thread.
