Starter won't stop engaging
I have a 93 lx convertible that i recently changed the battery out on, stupidly I reversed the cables and fried up some wires and blew out the battery. Replaced the battery and the solenoid as well as patched the cables that i could find that were fried. The car starts, but the starter stays engaged, like it's continually trying to start even though the car itself is running. The key is also not kicking back like it usually would, leaving me to believe either the key ignition, or the ignition module has gone bad (keeping the starter engaged). If anyone could confirm or give an alternate reason why this might be happening it'd be appreciated.
The ignition module is not keeping your starter engaged.
If the key action feels different. It's a pretty obvious place to start looking for the problem but since I suspect a fried starter solenoid check it first.
Especially since it's an easy check.
Repeat the start up procedure and while the starter is stuck cranking, unplug the small slip on terminal on the starter solenoid. If it's still cranking, it's the solenoid.

fried starter solenoid. my buddys car keeps doing this. hes replaced it like 4 times already.. not sure why it keeps frying tho..
and more than likley if it keeps doing that you will have to replace your starter because the teeth will grind off

Well, replaced the ignition switch, the key kick back issue was resolved, but the main problem is still persisting. Now according to all the posts, it has to do with a fried solenoid. I've replaced it a total of 3 times so far. I'm guessing there's a problem with a wire somewhere. I'll try and check wire connections like what yakira had recommended, but I'm not quite sure where to start (aside from the S wire). So if anyone has run into this problem and knows the primary wires that may be the reason for the issue it'd be appreciated if you could share you knowledge.
