Default Shifter needle

The shifter needle is way off on my 91 lx. When in drive, the needle is on 1. It's way off. Does anyone know how to realign the needle? Thanks! John.

well first off welcome, secondly count the number of clicks for each gear after park where the needle points, the only way i know for it to be off like that is for the linkage on the transmission to be messed up

Thanks buddy! So basically it has something to do with transmission linkage? I know when it stays in park, the needle is marked at reverse and when it's in drive, it marks down to D1

Yeah, pretty much. Is there any way to push the needle up? Or is it somethin to do with the trans?
