Default Studder problem

Sometimes when i'm on the highway and i slow down to 55 or so in 5th gear, when i push the pedal down the car seems to studder a bit until it starts to go. Any thoughts on it?

You say you slow down to 55mph...it may be that 5th gear in your car wants to be going faster. Next time you slow down like that try fourth and see what happens. That may not be enough speed to be in 5th gear. Hey maybe not, but I would try it!

It's fine in forth gear under 55mph. Maybe you're right, maybe it just needs more power.

Prolly have an air/fuel related problem. If your not pulling any codes out of it, you still may be getting not enough fuel/air and could be a number of things (TPS, Mass Air, o2, etc). Yeah check timing. does it do it only when you're going that speed in 5th? It could also be related to a driveline problem, my clutch used to slip in 5th when you put the power down, so who knows.

I'm thinking he has the 2:73 gears and is lugging the engine some as @ 55 he's only around 1400 rpm

I have a 3:23 in it and yeah sometimes when i mash 5th gear around 70-75mph it kinda studders. I'm using 87 in it and i've used 93 and when i used 93 i got less mpg. How would i go about checking the timing?
