Slight Problem..
(I didn't mean to double post, I thought I was posting it in tech, my apologies. Idk how to delete in from the general tech, so if a mod could I'd appreciate it.)
I doubt anyone here remembers me, but I am just finally getting my notch back on the road (after the whole process began in august of 08...yeah, i know)..put in fuel cleaner and some fresh 89 octane gas, as she is probably going to be on the road next week.
I started her up (not first time since 08, don't worry lol), and she was idling perfect..no knocks, pings, any abnormal sound of any sort.
Then she turned off, after like 20 minutes, on her own. Tried to restart 3 or 4 times to no avail. Oh, and this happened about a week and a half ago too. Exact same thing. Wasn't over heating, she was only slightly over 150 degrees.
Any ideas guys? I don't want to drive it until I get it fixed, can't be driving a car as my DD that turns off on me.
Thanks in advance guys.

I am new to these 5.0s . My Grand Prix had a similar problem and it was the crank position sensor. I don't even know if these cars have one. It would shut off without any warning hard acceleration, sitting at a stop light........

nope, no crank sensor, they have a hall effect sensor/pip signal that id's tdc in the dizzy

Don't know if this means anything, but about 4 hours after this happened, i went back out to start it, and i was checking connections under the hood, and my dizzy was still warm to the touch.
And when i started it, she started right up with no problem

If it was a fuel or spark problem, wouldn't it have issues starting?

was away at school for the week, but am now home for spring break and want to try and get this problem figured out, so I can finally get this baby tagged and start driving her again.
was doing some more research, and read that the fuel pump relay could be the culprit? does this sound right? if so, i'm assuming the only way to check it is by dropping the tank?

the fuel pump relay isnt even near the tank.
Do what we said... duplicated the problem, then when it stalls out, check for fuel pressure, and check for spark. Finding what your car lacks, will lead you to the problem.
