I have an e303 cam that i plan to use with my gt40 heads and cobra intake. but some one told me to get rid of it and use a custom cam instead. wondering what to do. i also have a bbk throttle body and 24 pound injectors that i will be using. also i wanna know if i should convert my car to MAF since it is an 87 and it doesnt have it. any help would be appreciated.

who told you to get rid of it??.....personally there are better options but given your parts combo, not to sure a custom cam would be tons more optimal to justify the cost

Who ever told you that must not be very experienced with 5.0's... That cam is not the best choice for your set up but it will work. There is always something better but you will pay for it. Personally I would stick with the e-cam. Thats just my $0.02

with almost any cam you use you will have to convert to maf for your car. what size t-body do you have?

if you're still speed density, that cam may present idle issues, there are cams specifically for sd

My 87 has the gt40 bcam crate edelbrock rpm intake 75mm tb and runs fine SD. For your combo there is really no way or reason you should go custom he prolly has a friend the grinds and wants to fudge you into a waste of money. You don't even need a tfs stage 2 you heads peak about. 500 lift so your right there at it! Save your self some money use what you have an if you have idling issues use the money u saved from not buying the cam to do a maf conversion! My guess is it'll run fine. The only iffy thing is the injectors. Might wanna stay stock but it might be OK with 24's.
