Default charging problem

so after finally getting the stang out after doing way to much work to it over the winter i drive it for about 3 days and the battery light comes on, not charging, i dont believe its the alternator cause i put one on in the fall, i tested for power going through it on the voltage regulator plug, one wire had power with the key off and another had power with the key on, the center wire that comes from the alternator had nothing.. anybody got any ideas, think im going to find a place that can test the alternator tomorrow, but as i said it should still be good..

Start the car up and remove the positive cable from the battery, If it keeps running the altinator is putting out at least 10 volts. If it dies the altinator is not working.

I have had alts that were bad out of the box and heard of it happening to others. Swing by autozone and have them check it out.

well, i was having the same problems out of my cars!! the fues link is more thsan likely gonna fix your problem. dont understand how they just go bad, cause all it is, is a rubberized coating over a spliced wire. hmmm, anyway, you can cut it out and run them together or put another link in there, but its all the same, let us know if that fixes it, if not i have some other solutions you can try.

What else can you tell me about fusible links? We removed one. Replaced it and THOUGHT we fixed the problem. The car will not stay running! Alternator has been replaced as well. ??? Totally confused......
