Default Clutch pedal shakes like crazy in some gears?

I have a 1992 5.0 LX bone stock mustang, really not a single mod In some gears, especially the 3rd and 4th, the clutch pedal will shake so violently that it is loud and quite annoying. Resting your food on the clutch (not pushing on it) makes it stop. It does not seem to attect performance or drive-ability. Shifting is still smooth.

What needs to be replaced or adjusted for the clutch shaking/vibrating to stop?

Things to note:
- Has 120k miles on it, one owner before me, no idea if the clutch has ever been replaced.
- I tried, from other posts, to pull up real hard on the clutch and I heard no pop. Then push it all the way to the floor and I hear nothing as well.

2-12-2012 Updates:
- The vibration is in all gears, not just the higher ones.
- The vibration starts around 2000 rpms and the higher you go the worse it is.
- The vibration happens also in neutral. So sitting still, revving to 3000 rpms causes a bad clutch vibrate.
- When sitting still in neutral you can actually hear the clutch pedal or some part around the firewall vibrating. It's pretty loud.
- If I hold the pedal up with my foot there will not be any vibration but I can hear some extra "noise".
- If I push the clutch in and rev it up I do not hear the noise. (I'm in neutral in both cases).

How does it shake? in and out, side to side, or all around?

There's a TSB out for this problem.

Interesting, that's the first I have heard of this problem.

Only in and out. That's a long list of things to check I was hoping for go "here" and tighten "this".

Chances are good since the car is stock, that you have cable/quadrant issues or the clutch itself is just startin to get thin. I wouldn't expect to find large issues.

Is there any simple-to-do adjustments to the clutch cable that I could check to tighten things up? I dont really know enough about clutches to do all of the checks myself, so I'll end up taking it to a mechanic family member.

If its the stock self-adjusting clutch quadrant, grab the clutch pedal and pull up a little. If that doesn't work, it's time to get dirty. >

Yeah, the pull up thing was what I tried first. I'm not sure what is supposed to happen but pulling up with my foot or hand does not budge the clutch at all.

I have just taken it for a few laps and I would like to add some additional information. I suspect it is enough to get me closer to the problem.

Driving, shifting and performance seems normal.

Extra updateS:
- If I hold the pedal up with my foot there will not be any vibration but I can hear some extra "noise".
- If I push the clutch in and rev it up I do not hear the noise. (I'm in neutral in both cases).
