Default bigger alternator?

i have a 1989 mustang GT convertible, and I was wondering if maybe I should get a bigger alternator from Powermaster. Right now I have the stock alternator. My mods are in my signature, plus I am getting ready to add the MSD 6A ignition with TFI Coil. I have a Kenwood CD player, but no major amplifier or big speakers. My car has everything power (power top, power locks, power windows, etc.) Do you think my stock alternator is fine or should I get like a 100amp or 140amp alternator?

The bigger the better. I know if yours is as bad as mine, if I try to roll down two windows at a time you can watch the power level (battery gauge thing) go down. It sucks, the factory alt. isn't enough, maybe I just need to replace mine though.

well my current alternator is less than a year new, but it is a stock rebuild. So will I be fine with my current alternator for a while, or should I upgrade as soon as possible. Will my current alternator be able to handle my car after I add the new ignition?

i have the PA performance 140 amp altenator from 50 resto it works great, my headlights are brighter. it seemed that everytime my subs hit the lights would dim, and everyone always asks me if its supercharged because the altenator has a whine to it.. it's funny

IN THE CASE OF ALTERNATORS....BIGGER IS BETTER ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE ADDING EXTRA AUDIO EQUIPMENT. JUST LOOK HOW THE CARS HAVE PROGRESSED. AS FORD ADDDED BETTER STEREO EQUIPMENT TO STOCK MUSTANGS, THE STOCK ALTERNATOR BECAME BIGGER.

I've got the bigger alternator as well, and have had no problems with it. Although I don't have any mods that would really put it to the test.

switch over to a 3g altenator. It is worth the money. Stock puts out 75 amps i think, at high rpm's. It isn't worth a **** at idle. New ones put out 75 at idle

does your 140A alternator fit in the same brackets as the stock alt?? and did you have to run a new cable to it, or did you just use the same connectors, no modifications??
if it just fits right in, no fabrication needed, i'm definitely getting one.

yeah will a bigger alternator just bolt right in, or do I have to buy a special harness, or make modifications? Should I get a 100 amp or 140 amp?
