Default Assembling rods to pistons

I have a 96 408w i am building, and i am having trouble finding out how to orientate the connecting rods and pistons. I have Eagle i beam rods and SRP pistons that have valve reliefs. The rod bearing saddles have a champfer on one side and they have numbers "12405" on one side and "s7" (cap) and "02" (rod)
I hope the question makes sense, any help or links to detailed assembly would be very appreciated!
Thank you

the chamfer goes toward the outside, meaning up against the sides of the crank

I thought he was asking how to assemble the piston to rod? Not rod to crank.

yes but in order for it to be assembled to the crank properly/ facing the proper side of the journal it has to be installed on the piston facing the correct way, what I stated stands, just make sure the piston is facing the proper direction..ie an arrow on the piston or dot usually indicates face forward

The pistons are installed with the valve reliefs toward the top of the block closest to the lifter valley like this.

You should really invest in a "How to" book or shop manual on small block Ford assembly. All the fasteners have critical torque values that they need to be tightened to and the heads have a specific sequence that must be followed when tightening the bolts. These will be listed in a shop manual or assembly guide. Asking on a forum every time you have a question will really slow down your build and could give you confusing or even wrong info.

Thank you very much, that helped a lot.
Yeah i have a SBF engine building book but it doesn't show it, they must figure its common sense i just didn't know for sure. i also have a factory service manual for a 1994 mustang and it didn't explain rod orientation either. Once again i really appreciate the responds!
Thanks
