for some time now ive had hard starting. well sum it up found out blocks shot. wont hold any compression. im reading anywhere from 30 to 60psi which is way low. so good buy budget buildup hello large cubes. so my loss is going ot be your gains. my topend is forsale
tall valve covers...$25......sold summit double roller timing chain...$25 svo 1.72 Roller rockers for pedestal heads...$150......................sold Gt40P heads with .542 TF springs, milled, ported, valve job...$300.........sold GT40E ported intake with 1' heat spacer...$200 BBK unequal shorty headers...$75 BBK OR H pipe....$75 summit high flow water pump...$50 B&M AOD nonlockup 3000 holeshot converter...$200 Pro billet servo for AOD...$50...........sold ARP head bolts...$30 TFS1 cam...$100 ......sold vfast dont move this, im very pissed off right now since i couldnt get any runs this year also very well possibly my FRPP 30# could be for sale also, along with my 70mmtb/spacer,also poly motor mounts and canton oil pan, all depends on the motor i go with |

also cam has maybe 5minutes of run time
heads just been rebuilt and etc no miles just minutes on everything on topend, im going large probably a 351based motor. probably a 408 stroker |

Hey Quik I feel bad, but it'll be a new beginning for your car and although it may be a little longer before you can get it done it will turn out AWESOME in the long run if you decide to go with the 408 :D.

im betting it is. motor has seen 270* 2 yrs ago and that was basically last time it was driven. and this motor was only going ot be a get me thru motor to i had time and money to build one. looks like im building soon now. roughly how much was yours

I'm going thru the same thing at the moment Quik.
I spent all this money on the top half of this motor,supercharger.all the electronics,and the dyno tune. On the dyno it started to spit oil out of the valve covers under boost. Turns out that i have bad rings.Did a leak down-or tried to. At 30psi from a compressor it was coming out of the other head.lol. I started thinking to myself,#@$#@#@#@. just like you probably did. Any ways, i figured the cheapest way to get out of this mess was to go .030" over with good pistons and a 306 cube. The stroker would be nice but it involves getting so much more money to get it back together, money i did'nt want to spend. With the 50 ounce setup that i have i dont need to buy anything. I only need to get the machining done and put it back together. Good luck as you think this thru. Rye |

this was going ot be my nitrous scatter motor. i could very easy run a 11 with this setup and my car. my next motor i want 11s on motor which shouldnt be an issue and 10s on spray. maybe ill put together a motor i can compeat with in some 5.0 classes.

for everyone that is interested in the valve covers. they have slight grinding on them to help clear with the GT40 intake. basically just some of hte high rise part is notched but its the part that is under the intake that you will never see. i did however polisht them up some. they were wet sanded with 1200 and then rubbed to shine with mothers. so whoever is the lucky person that recieves them ill will clean them up some and make them shiney again

Too bad....but i would'nt mind buying the heads....but my new black 93 cobra wheels kind of broke me for now....but your not the only one that's having problem's since i just got my motor back together and can't get the damn thing to run right for nothing,plus the leaking valve cover is pissing me off too...sorry to hear that but **** happens..

well for clearance my cam was 221/225 .536/.548 thats a little bigger then the Fcam and i didnt have clearance issues

Nothing at all done to it. And I got a complete longblock as well, AFR 185's to a nice Canton pan. And all the goodies in between Paid around 6grand for the damn thing. Lifetime warranty and such though. |

well someone offerd more for the heads. all im saying is ppl will have money sent out on monday. i never expected this many ppl to want these heads this soon. im not trying to gulge anyone. i just want to start my savings for new motor. so before i hit the sack tonight which will be soon. 11pm Eastern is the dead line for the heads

damn dude, sorry to hear about your loss. why dont you just get the block bored, or has it already been done. i got rid of my 87 GT this weekend after the mains starting making some serious noise. still got 3k for it, wich is more than i got in it, but anyways. i feel for you, hope you dont have a dog, bet that b@#ch would be beat to hell right now. hope everything works out. if i wouldnt have sold mine those heads would be coming my way no matter the price. why are you selling all youre topend stuff, it will all work on a 351????
